Non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensors are mostly used in the field of gas analysis as a means of spectral detection. It is mainly composed of infrared light source, gas chamber, wavelength filter and infrared detector. The gas is introduced into the gas chamber by pumping, and the gas concentration is detected by the electro-optic modulation relationship according to the corresponding absorption characteristics of the gas on the infrared spectrum of a specific wavelength.
Since all measured gases absorb infrared radiation in a different spectral range, also known as the "fingerprint", selectivity is guaranteed and cross-interference is reduced. The signal processing fully takes into account the influence of temperature and drift, and an easy-to-use concentration signal is obtained through compensation calculation.
